We're hosting a film screening, with director Houston Coley, live and in person on Saturday March 29 from 6:30pm.

A Kingdom of Tea & Strangers is a documentary chronicling one summer at L’Abri, a short-term Christian community in the English countryside, providing shelter for spiritually-homeless people and a hospitable space for honest questions. The film follows a group of students as they grapple with spirituality and belonging. The ministry of L’Abri has been a strong influence on Old Orchard Church from the beginning of our fellowship and we are thrilled to share its story with our wider community.

If you've heard tales of L'Abri, if you've been there yourself, if you've wanted to know more, if you've wondered about the influence of the L'Abri communities upon our local church community, please come! And join us afterward for a time of discussion. The mysteries of L'Abri shall be revealed. (Well, maybe not all of them.)

If you have a L'Abri story, we'd love to give you the opportunity to tell it in connection to the screening. (Please let us know in your RSVP or let pastor Ryan know.)

Learn more about the film at www.labridocumentary.com

Consider inviting a friend to come along with you! Flyers are available in the parlor to assist you in inviting others to the screening.

Light refreshments will be served.

This event became possible through Ryan and Jenni's recent trip to the Rochester L'Abri Conference (Feb 14-15) where they happened to meet Houston through a mutual friend. He's been wanting to show this film to folks in St Louis who are familiar with L'Abri. We're honored to be the ones to host the first screening in the Lou!

This event is free but we will be taking up a voluntary donation to support Art Within.  You can donate using Visa/PayPal by clicking here.  Art Within is a 501(c)(3) company and donations are tax-deductible.
