Two Worlds Collide: From Worlds Unknown, The Christ Child Enters In
Jesus consistently testified, “I am not of this world.” (Jn 8:23). On the day of his execution, he said: “For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world— to bear witness to the truth.” (Jn 18:37).
From beyond this world —from the immaterial world of God the Father, Christ comes into our material world (Jn 16:28). From the realm of light he comes as light (Jn 12:46). From One Who Is True—he whom the world has not known; the Christ Child comes (Jn 7:28; 8:26). We consider anew the mighty wonder of his appearing; magnifying the contrast between the worldliness of our fallen race and the excellence of the one who comes from beyond the rim of our universe.
