Sunday School (ages 3-5th grade)
Sunday School classes take place from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. before the weekly service and cover a variety of topics.
Nursery (Infants-Kindergarten)
We provide safe and loving childcare for infants through kindergarten-aged children during our worship service. There is an infant nursery for our babies and toddlers, as well as preschool worship for ages 3-kindergarten, which is a structured time of play, snack, and Bible Story. Our nurseries are located downstairs in the church building and all nurseries are staffed by two volunteers who must be back-ground checked to serve.
Children's Worship
Children begin the worship service with their families, and are dismissed partway through the service to go downstairs in our church building for a time of age-appropriate worship. Children's Worship takes place most Sundays during the school year. (If they prefer, children are always welcome to stay upstairs in the church's regular worship service.) Children's Worship is coordinated by Cherie Woods, a longtime children's arts teacher and faithful member of Old Orchard Church, and taught by a rotating team of two background-checked adults.
Summer Narnia (VBS)
Each summer, we offer a five-day Summer Children's Program (think Vacation Bible School) based on C.S. Lewis’s Chronicles of Narnia. "Summer Narnia," as we call it, is for children entering kindergarten through grade six and includes Narnia Story time, Bible teaching time (Biblical teaching that enhances the themes of the Narnia Story), crafts, music, and recreation. Information about this program appears on our website at the beginning of May along with a registration form. If you have questions, or would like more information, please contact Kelli McKie, director of Children and Family Ministries at kelli.mckie@oldorchardchurch.org.
